Safety and Security

Safety and security are of utmost importance to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. In conjunction with Governor DeWine's announcement of a State of Emergency in Ohio regarding COVID-19, the Port Authority is taking precautions to safeguard our facilities.
Starting on January 26, 2021, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention will require a negative COVID-19 test three days prior to boarding a flight to the U.S or proof of infection prior to flying in order to travel to the U.S. For more information, please click here

New Protocols at TOL

Per Governor DeWine's orders, masks are required inside the terminal at all times.

Until further notice, the Port Authority's contracted cleaning crews have increased their frequency of cleaning and disinfecting common spaces throughout all of our facilities. Sufficient use of chemicals, as permitted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, will be used to sanitize surfaces for which the crews have responsibility to clean and disinfect.

The following protocols have been put in place at Toledo Express Airport:

  • We have increased deep cleaning routines throughout the airport in places including restrooms, ticket counters, and other commons areas
  • We have increased cleaning frequencies throughout the terminal in high-touchpoint areas such as railings
  • Posters informing the public on how to stop the spread of germs have been placed in high-volume areas
  • Permanent hand sanitizing stations will be installed in various locations throughout the airport. Tabletop hand sanitizing pumps are currently available at multiple locations

Preventative Measures

Follow these simple steps to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19.
It is recommended that passengers also take preventative steps to minimize the spread of germs, such as increased hand washing, minimizing contact with others, and staying home when feeling ill.
