Fly Local, Buy Local!
Economic Development Initiative
It is important to consider that the airport is a community asset; NW Ohio deserves commercial air service.
It is up to our community to determine what service levels the airlines will offer based upon the support our community provides to both the airport and airlines.
Why support Fly Local, Buy Local!
To save you time and money, but also to provide our community with an opportunity to win back upwards of $80-$100 million in annual economic impact for our region.
Keeping dollars in Toledo helps build prosperity for all and allow the airport to not only maintain current air service, but add new air service.
How can you or your organization help support
and encourage the use of Toledo Express?
- Make sure to check “TOL” first when making airline reservations with your travel agent or via www.flytoledoexpress.com. It's easy to find great airfares out of TOL, sign up for Express Rewards and receive FREE weekly specials.
- Utilize nonstop air service that is currently offered from Toledo Express Airport to markets such as Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando and Tampa. It is not always cheaper to fly out of Detroit Metro, click to see a comparison.
- Start international trips from Toledo Express that would otherwise still require a connection from another airport such as: Shanghai, China – San Palo Brazil – Moscow, Russia.
- Consider the costs above and beyond the airline ticket such as IRS mileage reimbursement of 50.5 cents per mile, sedan and limo fees, one-way rental cars, the use of company vans, parking rates between $7 and $27 a day and the value of employees time.

- Utilize Toledo Express when bringing in consultants, vendors and suppliers into town for business.
Save outside vendors time and money when visiting Toledo.
- Consider that a nonstop flight from another airport, really isn’t nonstop since a connection is still involved (via ground transport).
Travelers must leave their home or office hours before their flight , which often means that in many cases it takes as long to fly from another airport nonstop as it might from TOL even with a connection.
- Airline tickets aren’t always more expensive from TOL, our airfares average between $20 - $25 more one way according to the Department of Transportation data.
When a traveler uses another airport and adds in the extra T & E expenses of the trip, it often costs more than using Toledo Express. Check prices at www.flytoledoexpress.com
Please join this important economic development campaign and let’s create positive change.
Toledo Express doesn't expect passengers to pay more than they feel their time and additional expenses are worth. We work hard to keep pricing in-line with other area airports in hope that the public understands we have very little control with regard to pricing. Airfare is influenced by the amount of competition in the marketplace, thus another reason everyone should support our local airport whenever possible.
